French Porch Idees

We have a porch right outside our kitchen. We call it our "tree house" porch since it sits amongst the tops of the cedar and red bud trees.

Mr. Fussy French recently extended the outdoor area and I've been enjoying cool autumn candle light evenings sitting and unwinding in the new space. I also enjoy my morning coffee outside amongst the tall cedars. Their heavenly scents fills the air.

I haven't decided what type of furniture to add to the extension and will probably wait now until spring arrives again to make a final purchase since winter is gradually sneaking upon us.
I've been admiring porches with French accents and touches.

Do you have a porch? What are some of your decorating idees?

I'm contemplating rod iron with plush pillows in gray linen.
I'm inspired by the two pictures above.

Any idees?

  1. Sounds like a great porch. If it were me I would fill it one-third with potted plants and potted trees, fill one-third with furniture and leave one-third area to navigate around! ;-)

  3. Ok.....swooning over here! I just adore both of your inspiration photos, Jill. The first one really pulls at my JDA-inspired heart, though. ♥ I'm your newest follower because I am all about anything French-country, and I can hardly wait to see your new porch! :)

  6. We live in a very old House so yes, we do have a front Porch, which I Love. So many modern homes no longer have them and therefore in new subdivisions you never see people sitting out front & conversing with passers-by. I have a French Bistro Table & Vintage French Bistro Chairs along with an eclectic assortment of Vintage Motel Chairs on our Front Porch... along with a Jungle of flowers & greenery... since we live in a Desert that is my little personal Oasis. Can't wait to see what you will do with your Porch in the Spring, your Inspiration Photo is one that I've had saved to my favs for a long time, it looks so inviting and relaxing doesn't it?
